People and the Places We Inhabit, 2025‍ ‍

A book about encounters where observation itself is the aim. Over the course of a year, experiences are gathered from meetings with both strangers and close relations, in order to explore how time and context shape relationships and the very notion of what a portrait can be. The material moves from sketches and notes to poems and textile prints, forming an archive of different translations of the same events. In this way, the project investigates the role of observation in art and how reality is perceived and reshaped, both individually and collectively.

The Substitute, 2026

In The Substitute, we meet an involuntarily childless and somewhat anxious substitute teacher who dreams of becoming an artist. Across the four seasons of the year, we follow them through the spaces they inhabit: classrooms, hair salons, cafés, asphalt-covered schoolyards, a small apartment with a lamp that never stops flickering, and a hospital room. The Substitute is constantly playing something they call "the association game," in which the inner and outer worlds endlessly weave stories around the invisible threads that connect people, places, memories and fantasies. The book unfolds through poems and watercolor paintings. The poems enter into dialogue with the paintings, which depict the whimsical, the absurd, the painful, and the mundane moments that make up The Substitute's daily life.

The book will be published in the fall of 2026, and can be encountered at Oslo Art Book Fair 14th to 15th of November.
